SubSea Craft announces sponsorship of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, supporting UK naval heritage and future STEM learning

SubSea Craft (SSC) has announced a new partnership with the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s (NMRN) National STEM Partnership Programme, strengthening the company’s commitment to Portsmouth’s maritime heritage and the development of future generations through STEM education.

The partnership focuses on NMRN’s flagship location at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home to some of the UK’s most iconic naval heritage attractions, including HMS Victory. The Dockyard also delivers a wide range of interactive STEM activities designed to engage young learners through robotics, coding, engineering, and hands‑on digital experiences.

Through this sponsorship, SSC aims to support the preservation of Portsmouth’s historic naval story while helping to inspire the next generation of engineers, technologists and maritime innovators. As a company that employs veterans from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, as well as being a signatory of the Armed Forces covenant, SSC is especially proud to support an institution that reflects both its heritage and its values.

“The National Museum of the Royal Navy plays a vital role in protecting and celebrating the naval heritage that defines Portsmouth,” said Andy Sturman, Commercial Director of SubSea Craft. “As a company proudly based in the city, we are committed to honouring that history while contributing to the future of maritime innovation.”

Emma Collins, Corporate Fundraising and New Business Lead for the National Museum of the Royal Navy said, “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with SubSea Craft, who will be supporting our National STEM Programme, with a focus at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. It is only through partnerships such as this, that the programme can continue to inspire more children into STEM subjects and careers. We are really grateful for the support of SubSea Craft and look forward to working together.”

This sponsorship also complements SSC’s ongoing work exploring the UK’s wider maritime story, including forthcoming series of articles that reflect on the nation’s naval heritage and its influence on today’s maritime landscape. Supporting organisations such as NMRN reinforces SSC’s commitment to connecting historical insight with future innovation.
