We leverage our team’s defence experience with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced naval engineering. Our flagship product, VICTA, is a Diver Delivery Unit – a surface submersible craft designed to operate at speed over range and capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery and recovery of divers. It is a unique, innovative British product focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.

Job Summary: Subsea Craft are recruiting for a Through Life Support, (TLS), engineer to help manage the aftersales support of Subsea Craft products, including VICTA. This position is ideally suited to an engineering degree holder with experience in an engineering / Integrated Logistics Support role. As TLS Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting the TLS Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient provision of maintenance, repair, technical support, and upgrades of the craft throughout its operational life. You are required to be proficient in the use and development of computer-based engineering tooling to deliver all aspects of TLS within an Advanced Maritime Technology environment / ecosystem. You will work closely with engineering and design teams to help identify, address, and manage issues related to the craft’s performance and will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing solutions to ensure that the craft remains operational and effective.

Close collaborative engagement with end-users and their support teams will be essential to enable effective delivery and ensure our products are always mission ready and available. This will involve coordinating with internal teams, external suppliers, and the end-users to deliver a comprehensive support solution appropriately tailored to the needs of our customers. The Role

  • You will report to the TLS Manager as part of a team and be an integral part of the Client Support Directorate.
  • Contribute to the delivery of TLS activities for VICTA and other relevant SSC products, ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, legislation, and best practice.
  • You will be able to work and organise in an autonomous manner as required by SSC in certain situations to include overseas interactions and SSC staff absences.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (such as engineering, logistics, and operations).
  • Support the TLS Manager in the construction of bespoke TLS packages to fit customer requirements using a variety of digital tooling and CAD based engineering software programmes.
  • Act as a touchpoint as required for external stakeholders (such as contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies) on all matters relating to TLS.
  • Develop and implement a planned maintenance schedule for VICTA vessels, ensuring that it is both effective and efficient and compliments the customer’s deployment methodology.
  • Support and interact with a globally dispersed team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Work with the customer and other SSC functions to deliver:
    • Fleet management
    • Engineering support and safety case management
    • Packaging handling, storage and transportation
    • Materials and spares
    • Upgrades and updates
    • Maintenance scheduling, documentation and information
    • Support and test equipment
    • Training
  • Carry out other duties as may be reasonably be required by SubSea Craft management.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*

Location:  Flexible working, Portsmouth HQ, overseas travel required.
