We leverage our team’s defence experience with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced naval engineering. Our flagship product, VICTA, is a Diver Delivery Unit – a surface submersible craft designed to operate at speed over range and capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery and recovery of divers. It is a unique, innovative British product focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Build, maintenance & repair of specialist craft
  • Travel to and support of offsite craft testing
  • Advise on noted defects

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • City & Guilds or HND qualification in Boat Building or Marine Engineering, or extended experience in composite yacht construction.
  • Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Existing right to live and work in the UK and no known bar to obtaining appropriate UK security clearance as required.

Desirable:

  • Able to fault find and fix mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems. Able to work with a deep understanding of composite materials.
  • Able to use Auto-CAD, rhino and other 3D software.

Working Conditions:

The role will primarily be based in the SubSea Craft office in Portsmouth, UK, with regular

travel to the Portland facility in Dorset during trials. The position may involve work in a

manufacturing environment and at sea during trials, which may present physical challenges and

require adherence to safety protocols. Note that due to the nature of work undertaken at

SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of

the position, which would include as a minimum the Baseline Personnel Security Standard

(BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.
