SubSea Craft Unveils MARS: a multi-purpose unmanned craft built to meet the demands of the modern contested environment- and the one in the future.

MARS – Autonomous Maritime Disruption for the Modern Battlespace

SubSea Craft has unveiled MARS, a flexible uncrewed surface vessel designed for operations beyond the traditional reach and risk thresholds of manned teams. Recent conflicts, including those in the Black Sea, have demonstrated that the rise of uncrewed technology demands a new approach to maritime warfare. Scalable, modular, and operationally adaptable, MARS is purpose-built for this evolving battlespace.

Developed in just 100 days, MARS exemplifies SubSea Craft’s commitment to rapid, platform-level innovation. By fusing agile engineering with an operator-driven design philosophy, the company accelerates the delivery of next-generation capabilities, ensuring relevance and advantage in a rapidly shifting operational environment.

Designed for missions requiring both kinetic and non-kinetic effects, such as Persistent ISR or Counter UxS, MARS can be equipped with payloads such as active and passive sensors, Camara suites or Loitering Munitions. Crucially, MARS can be launched from platforms already in service with nations around the world, force multiplying capabilities already in existence.

Camilla Martin, CEO of SubSea Craft, said:

“There is a clear global need for the responsive development of advanced maritime platforms that can meet evolving force requirements and objectives.

“At SubSea Craft we are proud to be representing the UK on the international stage in creating scalable technologies. These can be built and serviced in-country to boost both domestic maritime capabilities and the agility of our allies.

“The development of MARS represents another milestone on our international journey. Having been developed in the UK, tested in Australia and the US, we have been able to showcase our ongoing dedication to AUKUS objectives of interoperability and technological synergy between nations.”

Penny Mordaunt, Chair of SubSea Craft and Former UK Secretary of State for Defence, said:

“MARS has emerged as a disruptive force for the modern battlespace. Its successful testing following an impressive turnaround from its ideation is testament to SubSea Craft’s cutting-edge approach to accelerated research, development and delivery.”

Our mission is to secure the competitive advantage through the accelerated research, development, and delivery of maritime technology.
