Product Development Manager


SubSea Craft is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Product Development Manager to join our advanced maritime technology business. The successful candidate will report to the Business Development Director and work closely with the engineering team to understand user needs and bring partnership opportunities to life. This role works across all functional areas of the business to facilitate innovation and drive business value.   

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Drive business value by developing a deep understanding of Subsea Craft products and brand
  • Influence business decisions relating to partnership and innovation opportunities
  • Build market intelligence by understanding, researching, and following technical trends in the industry and in general. Assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage
  • Drive forward initiatives to establish innovation partnerships with both traditional and non-traditional defence-related companies, academic establishments, and commercial enterprises  
  • Forge strategic partnership relations at all levels
  • Ensure that existing product top-level requirements remain fit for purpose
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities
  • Understand and analyse data and sales pipelines
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to the technical community
  • Enable innovation and prioritise partnership activity by having a deep understanding of the business strategic roadmap

Your skills and qualifications as a Product Manager:

  • Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, sales, quality assurance, and operations. Ensuring that requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
  • Prior experience within a technical field is an advantage
  • Experience in an environment where time and quality are driving factors 
  • Willingness to gain qualifications and pass suitable training  
  • Knowledge of Defence/Aerospace/Maritime industry is an advantage 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated  
  • Must have excellent written English skills
