 Who we are: Subsea Craft is a fast growing, privately-funded, UK-based SME delivering Advanced Maritime Technology. We leverage our team’s defence experience with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced naval engineering. Our flagship product, VICTA, is a Diver Delivery Unit - a surface submersible craft designed to operate at speed over range and capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery and recovery of divers. It is a unique, innovative British product focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond. 

Full Time Position for a driven and pro-active person with exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.

The Role:

  • The role includes managing the development of procurement / supply chain strategies and plans to support business need and operational goals
  • Working with engineering quality, project management and planning functions to ensure all stakeholders needs are met
  • Managing major subcontracts with key suppliers for development, build, test of equipment / services in support of business requirements
  • Managing the process for sourcing and contract award of future requirements
  • Undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity to achieve on-time delivery, meeting cost and quality requirements.
  • Lead with the shaping of the Procurement Strategy, policy and process allowing them to maintain focus on risk management, and the Company’s environmental, sustainability, governance and compliance agenda whilst delivering optimal value
  • Regularly visit suppliers to maintain relationship and manage schedules, risks and opportunities
  • Support and/or negotiate commercial, financial, quality and schedule elements of contracts and any authorised changes in line with departmental procedures
  • Possess a good standard of competence in areas of providing customer support, demand planning, inventory management, asset management, spares and repairs provision 
  • Create expediting reports and undertake expediting activity with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal / external stakeholders - resolving a wide variety of routine problems and quality issues, escalating complex / high impact issues when necessary.
  • You will also be required to provide coaching, mentoring and development of team members to drive performance.

Required:

  • A qualification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) 
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a Procurement / Supply Chain environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately 
  • Strong leadership, motivational and mediation skills, and the ability to take initiative without guidance
  • IT Proficient – Microsoft Word, Excel, familiar with MS Teams
  • Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • The ability to understand and apply feedback on work performance. 
  • Adaptable - maintaining established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.
  • Collaborative and proactive / 'can-do’ working style.

Desirable:

  • Experience in maritime / defence procurement and supply chain role
  • Import / Export knowledge
  • Experience of ERP systems

Additional info:

  • Undertake procurement activity including, but not limited to, raising Request for Quotations, negotiating price and lead time, creating and managing purchase orders, expediting delivery and managing payments, (with support) and in line with delegated authority.
