Who we are: SubSea Craft is a fast growing, privately-funded, UK-based SME delivering Advanced Maritime Technology. We leverage our team’s defence experience with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced naval engineering. Our flagship product, VICTA, is a Diver Delivery Unit - a surface submersible craft designed to operate at speed over range and capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery and recovery of divers. It is a unique, innovative British product focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.

As we grow we are looking for a Bid Manager to join our team. The Bid Manager will be a key part of a growing Business Winning Team. Working alongside the Business Development and Capture Team, Commercial Team, Finance and Engineering the candidate must have a willingness to go the extra mile and help establish a strong bidding ethos within the organisation. 

As Bid Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, co-ordinate and programme manage the bid process, liaising with the required individuals to resource bids effectively and economically 
  • Facilitate the development and completion of bids by gathering technical, commercial, financial information from a wide range of sources, communicating with all aspects of the business
  • Lead the development of needed technical documentation within the company
  • Manage inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from business development, finance, commercial, engineering and technical, including a network of external partners
  • Guard the compliance of the proposal organising and leading on reviews and gates
  • Ensure Responsiveness by working with Business Development to ensure Capture activities and winning themes translate in to proposals effectively 
  • Enable quality through the review and production of bid documentation, providing a pre-submission control point to ensure quality and consistency of the final outputs, working with Adobe Suite to finalise and ensure a winning bid submissions
  • Play a key role in solution development, ensuring that you critically analyse solutions and understand competitive positioning of a proposal
  • Create and maintain a content database, ensuring up to date information and technical data is ready for use in proposals when appropriate 
  • Assist with solution workshopping and support other sales activity when requested

Qualifications and Experience 

  • APMP Foundation / Practitioner Qualification desirable
  • Experience of successful bid management and contract award 
  • Experience of defence bid submissions desirable 
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • Superior MS Office / Adobe Skills
